She Didn't Wait for a Better Solution.
She Created One.
Inspired by countless late-night pumping sessions, She set out to create a more comfortable way for moms to pump. Four years later, that idea became TiltMilk.
The advice was always the same:
"Just lean forward a little."
If you've ever pumped breast milk, you know the position.
Leaning forward.
Shoulders tense.
Neck aching.
Trying to stay comfortable while pumping for 20 minutes or more.
Lactation consultants recommended it because leaning forward can help position the breast for pumping. Experienced moms shared the same advice. The problem wasn't the recommendation — it was that no one had created a comfortable way to maintain that position.
The knowledge existed.
The pumps existed.
But the support didn't.
That's the moment TiltMilk was born.
Hi, I'm Shaolin —
and I was that mom.
I remember the exact session. 2am. I was hunched over the pump in the dark, back aching, trying not to wake anyone up. And then I thought — there has to be something that could help make pumping more comfortable. A pillow. A brace. Anything. There wasn't.
So I started sketching. At first just to get the idea out of my head. Then I started building — foam, cardboard, zip ties, whatever I had. Some people thought I was making a toy. But every iteration got a little better, and every mom who tried it said the same thing: "Why doesn't this already exist?"
Four years, dozens of prototypes, real testing with real moms, and a patent application later — TiltMilk is ready. And I need the community of moms who get it to help me bring it to life.
"I didn't build this to start a company. I built it because I was exhausted, I was in pain, and I refused to believe that was just the way it had to be."— Shaolin Walker, Founder of TiltMilk
From a sketch on a napkin
to a working prototype.
The Problem Nobody Was Solving
"After countless hours trying to find a comfortable way to pump — especially during those exhausting late-night sessions — I realized the problem wasn't pumping itself. It was the lack of support. I wanted a way to be comfortable while pumping, and when I couldn't find one, I decided to create it."
Like so many moms, Shaolin spent countless pumping sessions leaning forward, supporting herself with aching arms, a tired neck, and sore shoulders.
She searched for a product that would make pumping more comfortable, but nothing addressed the simple need for ergonomic support while maintaining the recommended pumping position.
Instead of accepting that discomfort was just part of the experience, she began sketching ideas, experimenting with designs, and building prototypes. What started as a personal search for comfort became a four-year journey to create TiltMilk — a support device designed to help moms rest more comfortably while pumping.
Turning an Idea Into Reality
The idea for TiltMilk didn't come from a design studio. It came from one simple question:
"Why isn't there a more comfortable way to pump?"
What began as a personal search for comfort became a four-year journey of learning, refining, and improving.
Each version brought Shaolin one step closer to creating a support device that felt natural, comfortable, and practical for real moms.
The result is TiltMilk — a working prototype inspired by experience, shaped by persistence, and built with one goal in mind: helping moms feel more comfortable while they pump.
From Concept to Prototype
What began as an idea inspired by one mother's experience has become a fully functional working prototype after four years of determination and continuous improvement.
Today, TiltMilk is ready for its next milestone.
With your support, we'll complete the final steps needed to begin manufacturing our first production run and bring TiltMilk to our earliest backers.
The prototype is complete.
Now it's time to build the future of TiltMilk.
Testing & Iterating
Feedback from real moms helped shape every detail — from fit and stability to comfort during every session. What's left is manufacturing, and that takes funding. The Kickstarter campaign will cover the production run, safety testing, and first shipments. This is the final step between a great idea and a product in the hands of every nursing mom who needs it.
Every Mom Deserves More Than
Just Getting Through It.
At TiltMilk, we believe comfort matters.
Every mother deserves thoughtful design, practical support, and products created with her real-life experience in mind.
TiltMilk was born from one mother's determination to make pumping more comfortable — and our mission is to help make that experience better for moms everywhere.
